A woman with 13 previous convictions has been given 28 days to repay more than $8,000 or face prison.
Suva Magistrate Yogesh Prasad issued the warning to Priteshni Pritika Chand, who was convicted of accepting payments for visa services but failing to provide those services.
Chand operates Priteshni Pritika Chand trading as Australia Recruitment Service.
The court heard she failed to provide services to three clients, despite receiving payments from them.
This morning, Magistrate Prasad ordered Chand to make every effort to pay the outstanding amount, which has been pending for some time.
The court also took into account her 13 previous convictions, warning that failure to pay could result in a prison sentence.
Her lawyer then raised concerns about comments made by the Magistrate.
Magistrate Prasad told the lawyer not to tell him what to do.
Chand has been given 28 days to settle the outstanding amount.
She is due back in court on 10 November, when she could be sentenced if the payment has not been made.
