410 teachers seek salary upgrades

A total of 410 teachers applied for salary upgrades after obtaining and submitting upgraded qualifications between August 2025 and June 2026.

Education Minister Aseri Radrodro provided the figures in response to a written question from Opposition leader Inia Seruiratu in Parliament.

Radrodro says the Ministry of Education received the 410 applications between 1 August 2025 and 30 June 2026.

He says of these, 273 applications have been identified for processing during the 2026/2027 financial year.

The Minister says the processing of the applications will be subject to the availability and release of the required funding.
