The Housing Authority delivered 267 fully serviced residential lots and completed 101 ready-built model homes during the 2025/2026 financial year, as government works to expand affordable housing and home ownership opportunities for Fijians.
Minister for Housing Maciu Nalumisa says the Housing Authority, established under the Housing Act, is mandated to help workers and their families access suitable accommodation at the lowest reasonable cost.
He says the Authority focused on increasing housing supply, restoring construction of ready-built homes, improving access to affordable housing finance, formalising informal settlements and progressing major residential developments.
One of the key achievements was the completion of the Nepani and Davuilevu subdivisions, which delivered 267 fully serviced lots.
At Nepani Phase One, 174 lots were delivered in February 2026.
The Authority also completed all 101 model homes at Nepani, marking its return to direct construction of ready-built homes after about three decades.
In July, the first 31 families received the keys to their homes.
The households have an average annual income of 28-thousand-814 dollars.
Of the first 31 families, 21, or 68 percent, earn up to 30-thousand dollars annually, while 10 families earn between 30-thousand-and-one and 50-thousand-24 dollars.
The allocation included 24 general applicants, three Public Rental Board tenants, two HART beneficiaries and two applicants under the disability and disadvantaged category.
The remaining 70 Nepani model homes have been allocated under the Housing Authority’s policy, with successful applicants undergoing loan processing and expected to take possession in September.
The Authority has also advertised 36 Residential B lots, which are under evaluation, while another 37 Residential C and D lots will be advertised through an Expression of Interest process.
At Davuilevu, a further 93 serviced lots were delivered.
The remaining residential and commercial lots will be advertised through an Expression of Interest process through the Authority’s enhanced customer portal.
