October 6, 2026 1:08 pm

Evidence including a revolver and a shotgun is being transferred from the Suva High Court to the custody of the Republic of Fiji Military Forces.

The order was made this morning for the safe custody of eight exhibits linked to the case involving former Australian horse trainer John Nikolic.

The move comes after 12.9 kilograms of cocaine, which had been held as evidence in the case, went missing from the High Court evidence room.

The exhibits were seized from Nikolic at the time of his arrest.

Under the order, the Court Registrar or an authorised officer must first verify each exhibit against the Court’s exhibit register before the handover.

The receiving military officer must also record the exhibit number, description, quantity, condition and any serial markings, as well as the date and time of the transfer.

The order states the exhibits must not be used, altered or interfered with while in military custody.
