Families in the Yasi Yasi settlement in Nadi now have easier access to clean and reliable water.
Community member Krishna Kumar says water shortages have affected families in the settlement for generations.
Some residents have relied on bullocks to transport drums of water for drinking and cooking.
Women have also had to travel to a nearby river to wash clothes, while backyard farming was largely limited to the rainy season.

A new borehole project, delivered under the Ministry of Multi-Ethnic Affairs’ community development programme, now provides clean and reliable water to more than 30 people across six households.
