The Ministry of Immigration will streamline the processing of relevant work permit applications from next Tuesday as part of efforts to improve the efficiency and responsiveness of its services.

Under the new arrangement, five administrative requirements will be removed from the standard documentation required for relevant applications.

These include the tripartite agreement, advertisement requirement, training plan, local understudy requirement and application received analysis.

The Ministry says the changes will allow officials to focus on the statutory and regulatory requirements applicable to each work permit application.

It stresses that the streamlined process will not reduce or alter Fiji’s immigration, security or compliance requirements.

All relevant applications will continue to be assessed in accordance with the country’s immigration laws and applicable policies and procedures.

The Ministry says the initiative is intended to deliver more efficient immigration services while maintaining the necessary safeguards and regulatory standards.
