Gaps in data collection present a challenge for governments, especially in terms of achieving Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

This is the view of Fiji’s Ambassador to Indonesia Amenatave Yauvoli.

Speaking at the inaugural session of the Office of the Vice-Chancellor’s Leadership Seminar Series at the Fiji National University, Yauvoli stresses the need for integrated data, enhanced capacity in collection management and allocation of adequate resources for proper data collection.

Yauvoli says institutions like FNU can play a leading role in this endeavour by educating students as well as conducting research in areas that will produce accurate and credible data.

Meanwhile FNU Acting Vice-Chancellor Professor Unaisi Nabobo-Baba says the leadership seminar series will be held regularly to encourage academic and research discussions among students and staff of FNU.
