The programme includes building nurseries and box farms to give students hands-on farming skills while promoting healthy eating and self-sufficiency.
In Muani, officers are mapping logged forest areas to identify degraded land for rehabilitation. The goal is to restore soil health and improve long-term productivity.
An agro-ecology demonstration site is also being set up in Solovola, Ravitaki to promote sustainable farming practices that protect the environment and increase local food supply.
The Ministry says these initiatives are part of ongoing efforts to build resilient farming systems and reduce reliance on imported food in rural communities.
