The women’s defence forces will not be participating in this year’s Ratu Sukuna Bowl rugby event, as confirmed by Police Acting Director of Strategic Planning, Pauliasi Colamoto.
He explains that the women officers are fully committed and unable to compete.
Additionally, they do not have the required percentage of serving officers to participate.
Instead, a mixed-touch rugby team will be representing them.
“Touch rugby is one of the new games that we have introduced this year, and I think it will be a historical event for the Ratu Sukuna Bowl since it will be a mixed competition.”
Colamoto anticipates that this upcoming game will be highly memorable and captivating for the players.
He adds that this game will be played at the Nasova Ground in Suva on the 29th of next month.
Meanwhile, the main game will be played at Prince Charles Park in Nadi on December 1st.
