There will be no cabinet reshuffle as of now.
This has been confirmed by Prime Minister Sitiveni Rabuka during a press conference this afternoon.
Rabuka says there were concerns raised by the Fiji Law Society and other agencies, and they are a government that listens.
He adds they also sought some legal advice.
“The reshuffle announcement will be made. At the moment, there has been no reshuffle. They are still there, where they were. The reshuffle is made when it is approved by the President on my recommendation and gazetted. Those have not been done.”
The Prime Minister announced on October 13th, in a statement, a major reshuffle in his cabinet.
He reassigned Attorney General Siromi Turaga to the ministerial portfolio of Lands and Mineral Resources while Filimoni Vosarogo was to become the Attorney General and Minister for Justice.
Ifereimi Vasu was reassigned to the ministerial portfolio of Education while Aseri Radrodro was reassigned to the ministerial portfolio of Minister for iTaukei Affairs.
