The Fiji Corrections Service is intensifying its efforts to enhance rehabilitation and community reintegration.
Acting Commissioner of Corrections, Auta Moceisuva, together with senior officers, visited the Labasa and Taveuni Corrections Centres last week to assess facilities, review ongoing development projects and engage directly with officers through talanoa sessions.
Moceisuva says beyond routine operations, the Service is placing greater emphasis this year on public engagement to support rehabilitation and the successful reintegration of ex-offenders.
He adds that effective communication between leadership and frontline officers remains critical to ensuring policies are properly implemented and aligned with the strategic direction of the FCS and government priorities.
The Acting Commissioner says the visits also allow management to monitor operational progress, identify gaps and gather feedback to strengthen service delivery.
