The Pacific Games tests held over the weekend revealed that rehab is still a concern for Fiji’s athletes.

Coach Antonio Raboiliku says running these tests helps them identify athletes who need assistance, especially since the Pacific games are six months away.

According to Raboiliku, these tests will aid athletes’ performance by keeping their bodies in shape for game day.

“With these tests, we will be able to single out and while we still have six months away from the Pacific Games hopefully we can re-address and reset some of the programs we have done so that it meets the challenges we have identified.”

Raboiliku adds he has a very young squad, the majority of whom competed in this year’s Coca-Cola games.

He goes on to say that these athletes, despite their youth, are capable, and that with the right support from stakeholders and the right programs, they should be able to do well for the country when they compete in the Pacific Games.

The Pacific Games are set to take place from November 19th to December 2nd.
