Three-day hearing set for judicial review of COI report

A three-day hearing date has been set for an application for leave to judicially review the Commission of Inquiry report.

The hearing concerns three separate challenges to the report’s validity, with the parties seeking an order to quash its findings and recommendations.

The applicants include former FICAC Commissioner Barbara Malimali, Fiji Law Society President William Wylie Clarke, and former President Laurel.

Vaurasi and former Attorney-General Graham Leung.

They are represented by lawyers Tanya Waqanika, Richard Naidu, and Seforan Fatiaki.

The respondents in this matter are the Commission of Inquiry into the appointment of Malimali as FICAC Commissioner, the President, the Prime Minister, and the Attorney-General.

The three-day hearing will start on 10th April.
