The 7th Amazing Wheelbarrow Race, also known as the Bara Battle fundraiser, was launched yesterday at the Suva Civic Centre.
The Frank Hilton Organisation [FHO] is once again combining physical and virtual race modes to engage participants in an exhilarating competition after the immense success of the past year’s events.
The physical race will take place on the 29th of next month at Albert Park, where a team of 4–8 members will compete in a three-round relay race for the Bara Battle champion title.
A virtual race is also being added for individuals and organizations that are unable to participate physically.
CEO Sureni Perera says the virtual race is an approach targeted at the tech-savvy audience, who are also frequent social media users, adding that anyone in the world with a mobile phone could participate.
She says the funds raised through the Amazing Wheelbarrow Race will be allocated to the operational costs of the Hilton Home, the only care facility of its kind in Fiji, which provides essential care to residents with severe disabilities and medical conditions.
