Fiji’s Rugby future on show at Kaji/Kajiana competition

The next generation of Fijian rugby stars is making their mark at the Vodafone Fiji Primary Schools Kaji/Kajiana Rugby Competition, which continues into day two today with live coverage on FBC 2.

Day one produced moments that hinted at the talent pipeline Fiji can rely on in years to come.

Among the standout clashes was the U13 boys’ showdown between Kadavu Kaji and defending champions Suva.

Suva claimed a narrow 7-0 win, but it was Kadavu’s fearless approach that stole the spotlight.

Their structured set pieces, relentless attack and unshaken determination pushed the champions to the brink — a glimpse of raw potential waiting to be refined.

The atmosphere was electric, with island teams proving they could match the physicality and flair of the bigger districts.

Each try attempt and defensive stand painted a picture of Fiji’s rugby future taking shape on the school fields.

The competition is set to resume at 9 am, with the first match between the Suva and Nadi U13 girls’ teams kicking off at 9.18am.
