Fiji Pacific Food in Salisbury Downs, Adelaide, has become a vital hub for the Fijian community and food lovers in South Australia.
As a dedicated retail shop, it offers an authentic “home away from home” experience unique to the region.
Director Kamlesh Mani, originally from Nausori, opened the store in 2023 with a mission to make island products easily accessible.
The shelves are stocked with a full range of staples, including taro, cassava, and frozen jackfruit, alongside household favorites like FMF breakfast crackers, Punjas spices, and PAFCO canned tuna.
Today, the vibrant space carries between 200 and 300 different Fijian products.
The inspiration for the business grew from Mani’s observation that Fijian families in South Australia struggled to find the foods they grew up with.
He spent years planning a space that would offer more than just groceries.
A turning point for the business was the 2022 Fiji Investment Forum in Sydney, which provided Mani with the professional guidance needed to navigate the Australian market.
Having faced challenges with a previous business attempt in 2016, he credits Investment Fiji’s support as a key driver of his current success.
Mani now aims to expand the business into a major retail and distribution center.
With a focus on bringing more Fijian exports into Australia, he is currently planning to expand into Western Australia to meet growing regional demand.
