QVS ends 33-year drought

History has been rewritten at the 2026 Coca-Cola Games as Queen Victoria School stormed back into the spotlight, ending a 33-year title drought in emphatic fashion.

In a thrilling boys division battle, QVS edged out defending champions Marist Brothers High School to reclaim the crown, marking a long-awaited return to the top of Fiji’s biggest school athletics stage.

In a thrilling boys division battle, QVS edged out defending champions Marist Brothers High School to reclaim the crown, marking a long-awaited return to the top of Fiji’s biggest school athletics stage.

They finished on top with a commanding 28 medals, including 10 gold, 11 silver and seven bronze.

Marist Brothers High School claimed second place with a strong 22-medal haul, while Ratu Kadavulevu School finished third with 16 medals.

Suva Grammar School secured fourth place with 15 medals, and Natabua High School rounded out the top five with eight medals.

Mahatma Gandhi Memorial School has successfully defended its crown, finishing as girls division champions with a dominant 29 medals, highlighted by 15 gold, eight silver and six bronze.

Adi Cakobau School finished second with 17 medals, while Natabua High School claimed third with 13 medals.

John Wesley High School also finished with 13 medals in fourth place, ahead of Ra Secondary School, who completed the top five with eight medals.

QVS and MGM will hold the bragging rights for the next 365 days until next year’s Fiji Finals, when new challengers emerge to compete for the crowns.
