Fiji Secondary School Basketball Championship begins this morning

The 2018 Fiji Secondary School Basketball Championship will begin this morning with 39 teams ready to take the courts.
Games director and Basketball Fiji Chief Operating Officer Laisiasa Puamau says apart from the inclusion of deans trophy holders Ratu Kadavu Levu School, the organizers are also happy to welcome back Queen Victoria School and Tilak High school who will be participating after a lap of 3 years.
Puamau says the boys from St John’s Cawaci and ladies from Suva Grammar School under 19 team head into this year’s competition as defending champions and the schools participating will be competing in the six different categories.
The Basketball fraternity is encouraging schools and supporters to come out in numbers and support the participants in the three-day tournament.
Schools participating include Yat Sen, Gospel, Marist Brothers, Natabua, SVC and International.
The National Secondary Schools Basketball Championship will kick start at 8.30 am this morning and will end on Wednesday at the FMF Gymnasium.
