Charges against Naucukidi set for possible withdrawal

April 1, 2026 11:23 am

The State has today indicated that they will withdraw the charges against suspended Fiji Corrections Service Commissioner Sevuloni Naucukidi as the complainant in this matter is willing to reconcile.

Naucukidi was charged with criminal intimidation following an alleged incident in July 2025 where he allegedly threatened a support staff member.

DPP principal legal officer Sadaf Shameem informed the Suva Magistrate today that the complainant in this matter is willing to reconcile.

However, the Magistrate told the state that this is not a reconcilable matter and that they need to file proper application.
