Recent international cases of adulterated consumer products, such as lead-tainted toys, diethylene glycol in toothpaste, melamine in milk, and salmonella in peanut butter, have caused serious distress among consumers worldwide.

Trade and Industry Permanent Secretary Shaheen Ali says the Government is further reviewing its consumer protection laws to make them more user-friendly.
