The Ministry of Agriculture and the Prime Consulting International – a management services contractor for the agri-business and food sectors from New Zealand conducted a calf-rearing training for livestock farmers of the Central Division this week.
Agriculture Minister Inia Seruiratu says the three day training was aimed to minimize issues faced by the dairy and livestock sector in replacing stock due to negligence in rearing proper and healthy calves.
Seruiratu says there are few serious issues that needs to be addressed.

He says the government is committed to the dairy sector as part of the modernization plan
Meanwhile Seruiratu has acknowledged the New Zealand Government for their continued assistance.
