Only four teams will challenge for the HFC Bank Farebrother trophy this year.
This is a change compared to previous years where eight challenges would happen.
Fiji Rugby Union Chief Executive John O Connor says this is due to the challenges in the Bainimarama Shield competition.
“In the past we used to have eight challengers but due to the Bainimarama Shield we have had to cut that down to four. That is the deal we came up with our sponsors.”
Skipper Cup semifinalist Naitasiri, Namosi and Suva will challenge for the coveted title while the winner of the Bainimarama Shield will also challenge.
Naitasiri challenges holders Nadroga in the first battle this Saturday at 3pm on Saturday at Lawaqa Park and you can catch a live commentary on Radio Fiji One.
Meanwhile, at 3pm on Friday, Ovalau will challenge Navosa for the Bainimarama Shield.
