For the past two days over 100 central bankers from the Pacific gathered to discuss working papers.
25 papers were discussed with the aim of its findings to be published and incorporated into policy making to benefit economic growth.
Co-Host, Griffith University’s, Senior Lecturer, Parmendra Sharma says Research Papers are a good way to build research capability.
“Beyond this of course these research papers and the journal articles that we are hoping to have will become a basis of policy formulation and development here in the region – that is the end goal.”
Sharma says the outcome of this conference is to ensure the 25 working research papers discussed are published.
The two-day conference had representatives from the Reserve Banks of Papua New Guinea, Solomon Islands, Vanuatu, Australia and New Zealand.
