Fijians will soon no longer have to queue up at ANZ branches to conduct a transaction.

ANZ Fiji Country Head, Saud Minam says they continue to drive digital transformation agenda by making a move towards cashless economy.

Minam says this will be possible through their ANZ mobile app on smartphones.

“If you have an account with ANZ, I hope you do, have an account with ANZ bank you can transfer it to my account without even coming to the bank. And if I have an account and you have an account with BSP , if I want to transfer it to your account, I can do that through this one. If I want to pay my kids tuition fees in Australia, I can actually do it sitting over here, I do not need to go to Reserve Bank of Fiji to get an approval because it is pre-approved in terms of certain formats which we have.”

Yesterday, ANZ also announced it will remove minimum spend requirements on all its EFTPOS terminals from Tuesday to help Fiji transition to a cashless economy.
