A suspended teacher charged with abduction and rape of his student has pleaded not guilty to all charges.

The 28-year-old is charged with four counts of rape and two counts of the abduction of a person under 18 years of age with intent to have carnal knowledge.

The complainant is a 13-year-old student of a primary school in Suva, where the accused used to teach.

It is alleged that the accused abducted the complainant against the will of her guardian between April 8th and May 5th this year.

It was also heard in court that the man and the student were in a relationship.

The matter has been adjourned to September 11th with bail extended.
