A commercial property on Kaka Street in Suva was destroyed by a fire last night, causing an estimated 400 thousand dollars in damage.
The National Fire Authority responded to the emergency call after 9 PM, arriving to find the building – which housed offices, a rental car operation, and spare parts storage – fully engulfed in flames.
Six adults inside the premises managed to evacuate safely after an occupant raised the alarm.
Crews from the Suva and Valelevu fire stations contained the blaze and protected neighboring properties.

NFA Chief Executive Puamau Sowane says the incident highlights the critical need for fire safety and emergency preparedness.
Investigations into the cause of the fire are underway.
