President Ratu Wiliame Katonivere met with the President of Switzerland, Alain Berset, on the margins of the World of Work Summit in Geneva, Switzerland, yesterday.
Ratu Wiliame thanked his counterpart for the Swiss Government’s support for Fiji and its presence in Geneva through Fiji’s Permanent Mission to the United Nations and other international organizations.
The Fiji Mission in Geneva was established in 2014. Its work involves the representation of Fiji at the UN and around 40 international organizations in Geneva, as well as the UN agencies in Vienna (Austria), Paris (France), Brussels (Belgium), and The Hague (Netherlands).

President Berset reassured President Katonivere that Switzerland is open to strengthening its relations with Fiji.
Diplomatic relations between the two countries were established in 1989.
