Canada-based player Abdullah Khairati achieved a major milestone in his football career last night after making his senior international debut for Fiji.
The youngster featured for the Bula Boys against the Solomon Islands in their opening match of the MSG Prime Minister’s Cup 2026 at the HFC Bank Stadium in Suva.
Khairati, was recently part of Fiji’s under-19 side at the OFC U-19 Men’s Championship in Samoa before earning his opportunity with the senior national team.
His progression from the Junior Bula Boys to the senior side in a short space of time is another important step in the youngster’s development.
He’s one of several emerging players included by Bula Boys head coach Stéphane Auvray, who is using the tournament to provide young talents with exposure to senior international football.
The opportunity also saw Khairati share the national team environment with experienced players, including Fiji captain Roy Krishna.
He joins fellow youngsters Maikah Dau and Ryan Naresh in moving from Fiji’s recent under-19 squad into the Bula Boys set-up.
