The people of Labasa and surrounding areas turned up in large numbers to be part of the Fijian Broadcasting Corporation’s 2026 Mirchi FM / Radio Fiji Two Rewa Diwali Dhoom.

The free concert was held at the Damodar City Car Park in Labasa for the third consecutive year, and was enjoyed not only by the public, but also by the performers and competition participants.

Entertainers say their partnership with FBC is always a success, adding that they were thrilled to perform in front of such a huge crowd.

The Masti Dance Group’s director Amit Chand says they created new acts to entertain the crowd.

“Every year when FBC does events all over the country, Labasa is one place we definitely look forward to coming every year, I think it is a very special time for us to celebrate Diwali with the FBC family and here in Labasa because Labasa is truly the ‘friendly North’.”

Bandish Band Group’s Navneel says they enjoy being part of FBC’s annual event.

“It is an electrifying atmosphere here, and we are very pleased to see the crowd and interaction and all and we are hoping to do some more and see how it goes.”

Apart from the entertainment, people took part in Diya design, Rangoli, and Diwali poster competitions.
