A 29-year-old man facing rape charges has been further remanded by the Suva High Court.

Wise Lagilevu is charged with one count of rape.

Lagilevu is alleged to have raped a 20-year-old woman along Waimanu Road in Suva on December 3rd last year.

He has also been charged with a count of Criminal Intimidation for allegedly threatening to kill the victim.

He is also for allegedly a pseudo-name to Police upon his arrest and is also facing one count of escaping lawful custody.

It is alleged that on December 15th, he escaped Police custody in the Central Division.

He is also charged with serious assault and resisting arrest.

Lagilevu is alleged to have attempted to assault and resist re-arrest.

The accused had earlier pleaded not guilty to all charges.

The case will be recalled on August 13th for a pre-trial conference.
