October 25, 2023 4:22 pm

The Ba Rugby Union Secretary Gaby Kautoga says they want to ensure their Tikina Championship is not just a transient blaze but a tournament that will be kept alive for years.

Following the successful launch of the 8 women’s and men’s teams in Nailaga Village, Kautoga stresses the pivotal significance of this initiative, envisioning it as the cornerstone for nurturing raw talent.

He says their aim is not just to secure a fleeting moment of glory, but to create a lasting culture of excellence that will secure the coveted spot for the Ba team in the Skipper Cup.

Kautoga firmly believes that through this championship, they will unearth hidden gems and raw talents that might have remained concealed from the spotlight.

“There’s a lot of players and good players in Ba, imagine Josua Tuisova. I know people are wondering where the next Tuisova will come from, but I guarantee you he will come from Ba.”

Kautoga’s assurance that only the finest players will be handpicked to represent the main team reiterates the gravity of the tournament.

The competition which runs for five weekends, kicks off this Saturday.
