A 23-year-old unemployed man from Waiyavi, Lautoka has been arrested following an alleged stabbing incident this morning.

Police say the incident occurred around 6am at the Lautoka Hotel, where the man is alleged to have stabbed his girlfriend with a kitchen knife.

He remains in custody as investigations continue.
