Ikanikoda out, Napolioni Ratu in for Paris 7s

June 1, 2019 7:25 am

Livai Ikanikoda

Livai Ikanikoda will not feature in the last tournament of this season’s world series in Paris.

Coach Gareth Baber has named Napolioni Ratu ahead of Ikanikoda while Isoa Tabu is the 13th player.

Baber says on-field communications is important in maintaining the flow of the game and in ensuring the team capitalizes on every opportunity present.

Baber says despite having new players in the team, they have developed a communication strategy that made them the number one 7’s rugby team in the world.

‘You know. Obviously, we’re competing with America, where the team has been together for five years. You’ve got players that’s 31 and 32 years of age and they’ve been together for five years. That counts for a huge amount in terms of your ability to win games. We are going into this tournament with the 11th most experienced team in the world, at the moment we’re number one. For these boys who have worked so hard, I just want to see them finish it off this year’.
