National 7s Coach Gareth Baber is impressed with the new and young players who are in camp preparing for the Oceania 7s.

Baber says he will announce his side for the Oceania 7s mid next week.

22 players are in camp and Baber says at this stage he knows who will make the Oceania 7s squad.

Senior players like Paula Dranisinukula and Kalione Nasoko didn’t train with the team yesterday as they are still recovering.

Baber also revealed that national under 20 winger Osea Natoga who is part of the squad has taken up an academic opportunity in Japan.

But Natoga’s under 20 team mate Simione Kuruvoli was at training yesterday.

Baber says he will also bring in a few Fiji Drua players into the squad.

“You see Simi there, you see Anasa there as well, people like Tevita Mociu who have come in you they learning they know they got to do a whole heap of work to get to the standard that the boys who have represented Fiji over the last few years and indeed the legacy that Fiji rugby has to lift to that standard is quite important for them so it’s good to have some young players in and I’m looking at a couple of players come back from the Drua as well you know like I have done previously’.

The Oceania 7s will held at the ANZ Stadium in Suva from the 7^th to the 9^th of next month.
