Bush says some of the victims have been identified.

Meanwhile, two of the massacre victims are from Fiji.

Confirmed dead are the Imam of Lautoka mosque Maulana Hafiz Musa Patel and Fijian citizen Ashraf Ali who migrated to New Zealand seven years ago.

Maulana Patel’s passing away was confirmed last night.

FBC News understands, Patel was the chief Imam in Lautoka for a number of years and well known within the Fijian Muslim community.

Meanwhile the second victim Ashraf Ali was a permanent NZ resident having moved to from Fiji seven-years-ago.

According to media reports, Ali’s friend Abdul Qayyum says he will always remember Ali’s quiet laugh and their humorous banter in which they nicknamed each other ‘last card’, after a game they would always play.

FBC News understands it took relevant authorities some time to confirm the identifications of the deceased as the bodies were kept at the mosque after the shooting and were only moved yesterday to the hospital at around midday.

FBC News understands there could be a third victim from Fiji but this is yet to be established.
