Davetalevu was bundled out of the Central Coast 7s in Australia after losing to Wellington 12-7 in a nail-biting quarterfinal match this morning.
The side from Nadroga took an early 7-0 lead at halftime but Wellington exacted sweet revenge after losing to the same opponent in the Cup final last year.
Tabadamu is the only local team through to the semi-finals.
Led by former national 7s skipper, Setefano Cakau, Tabadamu beat Hong Kong 21-12 in the quarterfinals and will now meet Wellington in the semis at this hour.
Yamacia were knocked out of the quarterfinals by Aussie Thunderbolts, losing 12-7.
Davetalevu and Yamacia will now feature in the Plate semifinals
In the women’s division, the Telecom Fijiana side lost to Aussie 7s Development 17-12 while Nadi Blazers were beaten 22-5 by CCAS in the Boot semifinals.
