Fiji will farewell one of its most respected national leaders, the late former President Ratu Epeli Nailatikau, with a State Funeral following Cabinet endorsement.
Ratu Epeli, who served the country with distinction across decades, held some of the nation’s most senior roles including Commander of the Republic of Fiji Military Forces, High Commissioner to the United Kingdom, Government Minister, UNAIDS Goodwill Ambassador for the Pacific, and Colonel of the Regiment.
His contribution to national service and leadership has been described as enduring, with his legacy expected to be remembered for generations.
The Ministry of Defence and Veterans Affairs will lead the funeral arrangements in consultation with key stakeholders and the Vanua to ensure a dignified and fitting national farewell.
