A 28-year-old police officer has been charged with one count of murder.

It is alleged that the officer was involved in a fistfight with a drunken man last Friday.

Police say the man died from injuries.

The 28-year-old is now in custody and will be produced at the Suva Magistrate Court this afternoon.
