Members of parliament will now be able to speak the iTaukei and Hindi languages on the floor of parliament.

Deputy Prime Minister Professor Biman Prasad made the remark last night at a reception for World Hindi Day in Suva.

Prasad says that assurance has been given by Prime Minister Sitiveni Rabuka in this regard.

He says they will promote strengthening the use of vernacular languages in the country.
