August 29, 2019 12:30 pm

Fiji Rice Limited is working on setting up two mills, one in the Central and another in the Western Division.

Chair, Raj Sharma says this is being done to ensure farmers have the opportunity to supply their rice to nearby mills.

Sharma says they’re looking for farmers who are willing to start rice production on a larger scale.

“We have called for expression of interest for suppliers of rice with a minimum of five tonnes that they can supply. So we are looking to setup two mills in Viti Levu. In particular one can be in the range of Ba and Ra and the other one could be in Nausori or Navua.”

Fiji Rice Limited plans to invest $1.2 million on the two mills.
