Easter calls for unity and hope among people: Singh

The Ministry of Multi-Ethnic Affairs has extended Easter greetings to all Fijians as the nation celebrates the holiday today.

Minister Charan Jeath Singh says Easter is a time of renewal and hope, reflecting the values that unite the nation, unity, compassion, and resilience.

He adds that it’s the time of the resurrection of Jesus Christ reminds everyone that even in difficult times, new beginnings are possible, and after every challenge, there is the promise of renewal.

He explained that the season symbolizes the triumph of light over darkness and encourages reflection, peace, and optimism for the future.

Families are encouraged to spend quality time together, especially with children, to understand the significance of Easter and the teachings of Jesus Christ, which can inspire actions that strengthen communities and promote kindness.

Minister Singh also acknowledged the ongoing conflict in the Middle East and its global impact, including rising commodity and fuel prices that affect the cost of living in Fiji.

He urges people to stand together in unity and support during these challenging times.

He emphasized carrying the values of Easter into daily life, finding strength in the message of the resurrection, and remaining hopeful for better days ahead.
