More than 3000 students and teachers are expected to benefit from the digital connectivity project.
This as outdoor modems are being installed in schools with poor, intermittent or no internet connections.
The Education Ministry together with the Australian Government is working together to install these modems for better coverage and more stable connections.
Minister responsible, Rosy Akbar launched the Internet Connectivity Modem in Nakavu Village School in Namosi yesterday.
Akbar says to achieve quality education – it’s imperative that all schools are connected to the internet and the connectivity should be of high standard.
“With the equipment provided by the Australia government my ministry is currently installing specialized modems in fifteen additional schools and this is expected to benefit up to 3000 students and 160 teachers now with low-cost access to reliable internet.”
