The Fijian Elections office will be reviewing its guidelines and policies come 2016.
Supervisor of Elections, Mohammed Saneem, says this is to make the 2018 elections more efficient and create awareness in the country.
Sameem says more workshops and training will be conducted for their staff and for the people of Fiji.
“We also targeting a different manner in which we will be doing community awareness and there is a segment in the budget for that to allow us to implement a very light phase of community awareness and we will be releasing more details as we get into 2016 but the budget that we had requested for is based on our plan and the plan is for five years and is a long term plan.”
Saneem says they will also continue with the voter registration in 2016.
The Fijian Elections Office has been allocated a sum of $6.4 million dollars in the 2016 budget.
