Fijian Chef de Mission Cathy Wong believes Team Fiji is in good hands with their NOC attache- Archie Watts Farmer.

All competing nations at the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio are allocated what is called ‘NOC attaches’.

Their job description more or less is to apart from a myriad of tasks act as interpreters.

Prior to coming to Brazil, Archie grew up in Bristol, west of London, England.

After working for about ten years as an airspace engineer he fancied a change.

Archie taught himself to learn Portuguese as he bought books and played rugby to fast-track his fluency in Portuguese.

As a rugby player, he looks more like a halfback rather than an open side flanker.

When he was accepted to be Team Fiji’s NOC attache at the 2016 Rio Olympic Games he sent an email to his mum in Bristol.

Archie who’s been to Fiji about eight times hopes his involvement will be a memorable one, not only for him but for Fiji.
