Young weightlifter Seruwaia Malani is looking to make the most of her first Commonwealth Games experience in Scotland later this month.

Malani was one of the stand outs for Fiji at last year’s Pacific Mini Games but the Glasgow Games will present a whole new challenge for the Ovalau lass.

“I know it’s going to be tough. This is my first Commonwealth Games. I will be going there to watch the big lifters, and what sort of techniques they use.”

Malani and her weightlifting team mates will depart for Scotland tomorrow, along with the national swimming team.

The Commonwealth Games will begin on July 23rd.
