The Tongan rugby side is confident of winning its opening Pacific Nations Cup clash against the Vodafone Flying Fijians this weekend.

A group of players arrived into the country on Monday night with the rest to arrive today.

Skipper, Nili Latu says despite only spending a week together in camp in Tonga, the players are well aware of the task at hand and will head into the match with an air of confidence.

“Fiji had a great start to their campaign and it’s going to be a very tough challenge, especially coming to Fiji and playing here. It’s a challenge that we believe we have done enough. Hopefully once the rest of the group arrives tomorrow (today), can do a bit of training and get ready for Fiji.”

The Flying Fijians-Tonga clash will kick-off at 3pm on Saturday at the ANZ Stadium in Suva.

You can catch a live commentary of the match on BULA FM with the voice of rugby, Graham Eden.
