Fiji Airways are now the official sponsor of our national Fiji sevens both men’s and women’s, the Drua, Flying Fijians and the Fijiana fifteens.

This follows the announcement made by the Fiji Rugby Union and Fiji Airways last night in revealing the new designs of our national rugby uniforms, carrying the branding of Fiji Airways on the front and back of the jerseys and shorts.

Prime Minister and Fiji Rugby Union President, Voreqe Bainimarama says every official, national coach, and national players will now fly like a Fijian both on the field and in the air.

Tonight I want to congratulate the Boards and management if both FRU and Fiji Airways in striking this historic partnership. It is a great day, as our national rugby teams now stand hand-n-hand with our national airline carrier.”

Fiji Airways Chief Executive André Viljoen says Fiji Airways will truly be represented to the rest of the world.

“It is stating the obvious that sports is a huge part of lives in Fiji and we’re very proud of our sporting history. Fiji Airways is proud to partner Fiji Rugby Union for the next five years.”

Fiji Rugby Union Chief Executive, John O’Connor says this partnership will herald a new era for FRU and Fiji Airways.

“Tonight the rugby in Fiji from the grassroots level to our national teams, including all volunteers, administrators in clubs, provincial union, in schools, members of the FRU Council and Board of Directors and all FRU staff will board on the special Flight FJ 679 in our journey of new rugby horizon.”

Meanwhile, and as part of the partnership, Fiji Link will sponsor all of Fiji’s local referees.
