Team Wellington through to semis

April 17, 2015 7:12 pm

“Team Wellington is the first team to make it to the last four stage of the 2015 Fiji Airways OFC Champions League as they defeated Tafea FC 3-2 in their last pool match last night.*

Wellington finish the pool stage with 9 points with three wins in three matches.

In another match played last night ,a 9-man Hekari United side held on to beat Tefana 3-2 but it wasn’t enough for the Papua New Guinea based side to guarantee a spot in the semi finals.

Two Hekari players, one of which was Fijian defender Pita Bolatoga was flashed the red card in the match.

They now have to wait for other results to go their way if they are to qualify to the next stage as the best runner up team.

Today, Vodafone Ba takes on AS Pirae at 7pm at home at Govind Park while at 4.30pm Lupe Ole Soaga takes on FC Gaitcha.

Ba needs only a draw in this match to face Team Wellington in the semi finals.

You can catch the live commentary of the Ba-AS Pirae match with the voice of soccer, Raymond Stoddart on Radio Fiji Two.

At the ANZ Stadium in Suva, Western United plays hosts Vodafone Suva at 4.30pm while defending champions Auckland City takes on last year’s finalist Amicale at 7pm.
