Super Rugby Sucess in Fiji

Fiji has shown interest in hosting another super rugby match next year however the venue is yet to be confirmed.

According to News Talk, Sky Sport rugby commentator Tony Johnson explained how well received the Super Rugby match between the Chiefs and Highlanders was in Fiji and mentioned a possibility of taking the game to Lautoka.

FBC sports has sent questions and is awaiting confirmation from Fiji Sports Council Chief Executive Litiana Loabuka.

Meanwhile, Sports Minister Laisenia Tuitubou says Fiji is ready to host another super rugby event.

“We will be there for another year and we don’t know who will be bidding to be the local team. Unfortunately, it was the Highlanders who was our local team this year but lost to chiefs.”

$3.55m from the 2018/19 national budget has been allocated for a Super Rugby match to be hosted in Fiji next year.
