Fiji Airways Drua rugby captain John Stewart is tipped to captain the national team in the Brisbane Tens next month.
Stewart who has taken a break from sevens rugby, is one of the most experienced on the local scene.
Stewart will play for Suva in the Skipper Tuna Tens competition on Saturday and says his first step is to impress the selectors this weekend.
“I feel and I know that this year will be an interesting year. Coming back from the festive season, I’m just trying to get back to preparation and training wise but as days go by I will see if I can get a good run this week.”
The selectors will name the team to the Brisbane 10s after this weekend.
The provincial tens will be played on Saturday and the Bedesi Park and you can catch the commentaries of the semi-finals and final live on Radio Fiji One.
